Debs Garden Rice Made Easy



This rice dish is sure to please the family.  It can be made with quick cook rice ( I prefer Uncle Bens Rice if I need to save time) or whle grain brown rice.  


2 Cups Rice ( I prefer the health benefits of whole grain brown rice or Sprouts Organic Rice Blend)

4 Cups vegetable broth, chicken broth or water (be sure to compare rice to liquid recommendations on the rice you choose)

1/4 cup SW Seasoning Mix  

1 teaspoon Deb's Flavor Crystals

1/4 cup finely chopped flat leaf Kale (Can substitute Spinach if desired)

1/4 Cup Finely Diced Carrots

1/4 Cup Frozen or Fresh Peas


You can change the vegetable additions to your liking.  Sometimes I just use whatever I have on hand.  The seasonings contains the rest of the ingredients to create a mouthwatering flavor.  


Heat water, seasonings, kale, and rice to boiling.  Reduce heat, add the remaining ingredients, cover and reduce heat to a simmer.  Cook 18 to 25 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed. (cooking time varies so read rice package for adjustments to liquid or cooking time)  Stir once or twice while cooking.

Let stand 5 minutes covered and serve warm with one or our grilled chicken recipes or other meat recipe.  

If you are lucky enough to have a rice cooker it works great for this recipe.
